We’re proud to share that Nationwide Waste Solutions General Manager, Bryan Dance, has been selected as a Judge for the 2026 Telstra Best of Business Awards.
For Bryan, it is an opportunity to contribute his experience to one of Australia’s leading business awards programs. For Nationwide, it also marks another milestone in a journey that has been more than 20 years in the making.
Since being founded in 2004, Nationwide has grown from an Australian waste management business into a national managed services organisation supporting complex, multi-site customers across the country.
That growth has been driven by our people – from operations and customer service teams solving problems every day, to our account managers, leadership team and national supplier network working together to deliver more consistent, transparent and sustainable outcomes for our customers.
That collective effort has also shaped our own Telstra Best of Business Awards journey.

Nationwide was recognised as a Victorian State Finalist in the Promoting Sustainability category in 2023, before becoming the 2024 Victorian State Winner for Promoting Sustainability and progressing to the National Finals.
Now, Bryan has the opportunity to experience the Awards from the other side of the judging table.
What will Bryan do as a Telstra Best of Business Awards Judge?
The Telstra Best of Business Awards recognise Australian small and medium-sized businesses demonstrating strong performance, leadership, innovation and positive impact.

As a judge, Bryan will undertake formal onboarding and conflict-of-interest requirements before reviewing and scoring written and video submissions. He will also participate in finalist interviews, ranking and discussions with fellow judges.
The judging process considers areas including operational effectiveness, leadership and culture, sustainability, innovation, community contribution and business impact.
It gives Bryan the opportunity to draw on more than two decades of experience in business, customer strategy, waste management and operational improvement while hearing directly from other Australian business leaders.
What does this mean for Nationwide?
Bryan’s selection is recognition of the experience and perspective he brings to the judging process, but it also reflects how far Nationwide has come as a business.
From building a national network and supporting increasingly complex customers, to strengthening our systems, sustainability capabilities and service model, Nationwide has continued to evolve by challenging how things can be done better.
Just as importantly, judging provides an opportunity to learn from other high-performing businesses and bring new ideas and perspectives back into Nationwide.
From State Finalist, to Victorian Winner and National Finalist, and now Judge, our involvement with the Telstra Best of Business Awards has become an important part of Nationwide’s journey.
It is also a chance to recognise the people behind that progress.
Thank you to the entire Nationwide team for the expertise, care and commitment you bring to our customers every day — and congratulations to Bryan on his selection as a 2026 Telstra Best of Business Awards Judge.
